Teaching healthy eating habits in early childhood impacts eating habits for life.

Mountain Resource Center's virtual Healthy Habits nutrition education program invites parents and their preschool-aged children to try new foods, cook healthy snacks, and have fun in the kitchen together.

We are hopeful that families will be able to return to our building soon. To create a more engaging classroom and grow fresh produce and herbs year-round, MRC would like to enhance its Healthy Habits program with Tower Gardens. These indoor gardens are vertical aeroponic growing systems. They will allow us to grow up to 20 vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers in less than three square feet while giving children and parents first-hand experience growing their own vegetables. As an added benefit, the fresh food grown in the Tower Gardens can be distributed through MRC's food pantry.
