Life in our mountain communities can look serene from the outside, but many households struggle to make ends meet. In the past year, the majority of the families we served were living at or below the Federal Poverty Level, and a third of the families were barely above it. For them, MRC is not just support—it’s survival. And for so many, it’s also a bridge to long-term independence.

Last year, with the support of our community:

• We shared nearly 284,000 pounds of food through our Food Share Market, Mobile Food Share, and Community Refrigerator.
• We provided nearly $200,000 in critical rent/mortgage and utility assistance.
• Our case management team worked closely with 353 households to navigate challenges and access resources.
• Altogether, we were able to serve 1,134 households, including 659 children.
